- "You know what I do to people who try to take what I'm owed?"
"Whoa, whoa, take it easy! I wasn't going to cheat you, I was just trying to keep it secret. It's at the bottom of an old moisture reservoir west of Bestine. I put a rock on top, you have to blast it off." - ―Criminal to smuggler
The Guardhouse Ruins were the ruins of an old moisture reservoir and guardhouse in the north area of the North Jundland Wastes region of the desert planet Tatooine.[1] By 3 ABY, the ruins had become just a handful of walls. However an underground room in the ruins remained intact and had a bounty hunter mask stored in a container. A smuggler also stored a cache of materials in the underground room and to keep it secure they placed a rock on top of the vent leading to the room. During 3 ABY,[2] ruins were still frequented by pirates.[1]
Later that year,[2] Kay Vess, over heard the smuggler discussing their cache with an acquaintance while in Bestine, a city west of the ruins. Vess later traveled to the ruins and used her blaster to destroy the rock preventing entry to the underground room and retrieving the cache and the bounty hunter mask.[1]
Behind the scenes
The ruins appeared in the 2024 Massive Entertainment video game Star Wars Outlaws published by Ubisoft. The bounty hunter mask found in the ruins could be used by a trophy to customize the appearance of the player's S57 Cardinal speeder bike.[1]
