Gryphon was a mountainous planet[3] located in the Inner Rim,[1] where war among its clans had long been a way of life. During the rise of the Galactic Empire, the native Brock Lar had been the highest-ranking warrior in his clan, but after the death of his youngest son, he realized that there was no hope for peace. Around 0 BBY, he chose to escape the clutches of death and seek out a peaceful world where his family could begin a new life. The people of Alderaan listened to Brock’s story and welcomed his family with open arms.[3]
Behind the scenes
Gryphon was created by Matthew Berry and Craig Farr, two Star Wars fans, for the backstory of their Brock Lar entry in the Design An Alien contest held in the Star Wars Galaxy Magazines.
