Gru was a humanoid waiter who worked at a bar on the moon Nar Shaddaa. When the human smuggler Sana Starros reluctantly went on a date with the scoundrel Lando Calrissian, Starros ordered food that she considered "garbage" on purpose, and, after Calrissian decided to leave, Starros ordered "real" food and drinks from Gru, who happily obliged.[1]
