The Ground Defense Forces was the name given to the military units under the command of Colonel Ledick Firest during the Battle of Hoth. Consisting of five companies of defense troops and two flights of snowspeeders, the Ground Defense Forces were tasked with holding off the approaching All Terrain Armored Transports and snowtroopers of Blizzard Force.[1]
