- "He was probably more afraid of the Bando Gora than he was of Montross."
- ―Rozatta
Groff Haugg was an alien male individual who was the owner of Haugg Nerf Industries and a death stick trafficker.
Biography
The alien known as Haugg ran a nerf-packing plant in the industrial sector of Coruscant prior to the Battle of Naboo called Haugg Nerf Industries which supplied nerf meat, but his plant was also a front for the trafficking of death sticks, with the help of the Twi'lek senator Connus Trell. The smuggled death sticks, secured from the Malastare Dug crime lord and death stick producer-distributor Sebolto, contained a Bando Gora neurotoxin that enslaved anyone who used it. He shipped them to various corners of the galaxy, smuggling them in the sides of carbonite shipping containers that contained nerf meat. He was killed while being interrogated by Montross by carbonite flash-freezing before Jango Fett could get any information from him. However, Groff Haugg lied to Montross by diverting him to the Gazzari system, which used to have a death stick smuggling operation before it was stopped by the Republic, something Rozatta would later comment on by saying, "he was probably more afraid of the Bando Gora then he was of Montross".
Behind the scenes
Groff Haugg debut in LucasArts' video game Star Wars: Bounty Hunter,[5] which was first released on November 22, 2002.[6] In the Star Wars: Bounty Hunter: Prima's Official Strategy Guide, Groff Haugg is shown to be a Gran;[7] however, the game itself—as well as a concept art by Cory Allemeier—show Haugg to be a different species.[5] Game designer Jon Knoles would later confirmed Haugg to be the same species as Groff Zugga.[2][3] In the 2008 Del Rey reference book The Complete Star Wars Encyclopedia, Haugg's name was misspelled as "Groff Haug."[4]
