A gremlin was a supposed creature that caused malfunctions in underwater airlocks, following the theory of the superstitious "Half Under" population of Bartyn's Landing. The people behind these sabotages were really the thought-extinct Menahuun.
Han Solo referred to the Ewoks who surrounded him after he fell from their net on the Forest Moon of Endor as "Axe-wielding gremlins".[1]
