The grapnel-harpoon launcher, known simply as the grapnel launcher, was a non-lethal weapon and climbing tool produced by the weapons division of Pharr Co.[1]
Produced with the targeting capabilities and balance to be used effectively in the middle of combat, the grapnel-harpoon launcher used a magnetic firing mechanism to launch a grappling hook and line with enough force and precision to be classified as a light weapon.[1]
In addition to using its high-powered hook and internal winch as a standard climbing tool, the grapnel-harpoon was also especially suited to snaring and entangling opponents in the launcher's high-tensile cord, and was often often used by thieves and bounty hunters who didn't want their victims to fight back.[1]
Behind the scenes
The grapnel-harpoon launcher was first mentioned in No Disintegrations,[1] a 2017 supplement for the Star Wars: Edge of the Empire roleplaying game published by Fantasy Flight Games.[2]
