Gotida was a celestial body located in the Goti system[2] within the Slice portion of the Inner Rim.[1] It was the site of the settlement known as Jalor City as well as its suburbs.[2]
Gotida was the homeworld of the Human Riic Mardec, who worked as a repulsortaxi driver since his teenage years and spent nearly fourteen years saving money to move his family out of Jalor City.[2] At some point by 2 ABY,[3] however, the Galactic Empire carried out an attack on a Rebel Alliance cell in the city that resulted in Mardec's family being killed in cross-fire.[2]
Behind the scenes
Gotida was mentioned in Alliance Intelligence Reports, a 1995 sourcebook for West End Games' Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game.[2] The 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas subsequently placed the Goti system, and therefore the celestial body itself, in grid square O-10.[1]
