The gold super battle droid was a more durable variant of the standard B2 super battle droid. Its gold plating made it impervious to attacks from blasters, lightsabers, and explosives. Only rapid-firing blasters were capable of destroying the droids.

During the Galactic Republic's attack on Skytop Station, many dissassembled gold super battle droids could be found throughout the station, with them showing loyalty to the Republic forces and one helping Ahsoka Tano reach a higher level around the same time as her fight with Grievous.

A gold super battle droid loyal to the Separatists could be found on the Invisible Hand.[3]
