Behind the scenes

Gold bricks first appeared in the non-canon video game LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens,[1] which was released on June 28, 2016.[2] In LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens, gold bricks can be utilized to unlock additional levels in the game. Gold bricks can be obtained by completing levels, achieving "True Jedi" status in any level, collecting all ten minikits in a level, and completing missions in the overworld.[1] Their functional counterparts in LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga are kyber bricks.[3]

Gold bricks were first created for the non-canon video game in the Star Wars Legends continuity, LEGO Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy,[4] which was first released on September 12, 2006.[5]
