The Glowpoint devastating Hollowtown during the firing of Centerpoint's Starbuster
The Glowpoint was a large, star-like reactor that supplied power to the Centerpoint Station. It was an artificial sun that was suspended in the exact center of the sphere; unbeknownst to those living in the settlement of Hollowtown around the star, Glowpoint was in essence a pilot light—it served to maintain the station's power supply and would generate an immense flare when the station was used. To simulate night, farmers installed adjustable shadow-shields, which appeared as bright patches of gold or silver from above.
On both sides of the Hollowtown sphere, positioned along the spin axis, was a large cone ringed by six smaller cones; the sets were called the North and South Conical Mountains.
