- "For instance, durin' Solstice Tide, folks on Coruscant used to transport vecari trees all the way from Seylott, coverin' 'em with glow-globes and linin' 'em up and down Republic Avenue."
- ―Strono Tuggs, The Life Day Cookbook
Glow-globes were spherical illumination devices. Until at least the High Republic Era, they were hung on the boughs of vecari trees that lined the avenue's of the planet Coruscant's Galactic City during the Solstice Tide festival.[1]
Glow-globes shined as brightly as the superscrapers of the city at night.[1] Artiodac chef Strono Tuggs mentioned glow-globes in his second cookbook, The Life Day Cookbook, which he released at some point after publishing his first cookbook[2] in 34 ABY,[3] implying that the Coruscanti tradition surrounding glow-globes was no longer in practice.[2]
Behind the scenes
Glow-globes appeared in "A Coruscant Solstice," a short story by George Mann and Cavan Scott. The story was published in the 2021 anthology Life Day Treasury.[1]
