"I mean, why am I still on sock detail when Gladys from Accounting got promoted to Commander, and she doesn't even know how to hold a blaster? No, I mean, really, she failed that part of the exam four times. She held it backwards and upside-down. But, no, she's a second cousin of some midlevel Darth, and so she gets a promotion?"

Gladys was an individual who worked in the Galactic Empire's Accounting.[1] In 0 BBY, during the Galactic Civil War,[2] Gladys was promoted to commander. Afterward, the stormtrooper Candace claimed that Gladys was incapable of holding a blaster and failed that specific part of an exam four times by holding it backward and upside-down. Furthermore, Candace accused Gladys of being favored for the promotion because her second cousin was a "midlevel" Darth, while the stormtrooper was stuck on sock detail.[1]

Behind the scenes

Gladys was mentioned in the non-canonical animated crossover special Phineas and Ferb: Star Wars,[1] which was released on July 26, 2014.[3]
