General maintenance was an organization within the Army of the Galactic Empire that was considered to be one of countless less glamorous units but was thought to be vital to the Army's mission.[1] Personnel in general maintenance were tasked with small maintnance of infrastructure, vehicles, equipment, etc. to keep the Army running smoothly. They would maintain fortifications away from combat, as combat engineering was the Army Engineering Corps job. Most of the soldiers in this job were unfit for other commands, or failed tryouts for certain commands, being placed in general maitnance as to fill the space needed.

General maintenance was mentioned in Dawn of Rebellion, a roleplaying supplementary sourcebook for the Star Wars Roleplaying series that was published by Fantasy Flight Games in 2018.[1]
