Maltaz was an Imperial general who commanded Battle Group Turak during the Battle of Turak IV. During the assault, Maltaz ordered two battalions of the Imperial Hammers Elite Armor Unit to assault the main Alliance base directly while he attempted to flank the installation to the west. However, his advance was stalled by the Alliance having mined the western approach to their base, and his forces were cut off and decimated.
