Gary Keith Brubaker is a programmer of several LucasArts products.
Biography
Brubaker studied in the California Institute of Technology, where he worked at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, and also in the University of California, Berkeley where he received a degree in physics. He did academic work in astronomy.[1]
His involvement with LucasArts began when, while eating breakfast, a newspaper fell off the table, with an advertisement looking up. Brubaker had no formal programming education, but enjoyed both its creative and its technical aspects. He was interviewed and hired. Notably, in a sad coincidence, his interviewer was fired on Brubaker's first day at work.[1]
He programmed several sound tools for LucasArts games, such as the install utility of Star Wars: Dark Forces; he was assistant programmer for Star Wars: Rebel Assault.[2] [1]
He participated, in some capacity, in all three versions of The Dig, and contributed with his physics background for technical accuracy in the dialogues.[1]
