Galactic Passports were passports issued to citizens of the Galactic Empire issued exclusively by the Imperial Space Ministry, by order of Galactic Emperor Palpatine. These passports allowed the bearer unrestricted passage throughout the Empire. The Galactic Passports included information about the bearer's identity, including birth date, place of birth, species, and gender. The passport was written in Galactic Basic Standard, using both Aurebesh and the High Galactic alphabet.
It is also a major crime to prevent the bearer unrestricted passage across the galaxy, with the punishment being persecution under existing Imperial statutes, which went up to and even included summary execution. The same sentencing applied to those who attempted to use the passport in an unlawful manner or if the passport itself was falsified or altered.
