The Galactic Alliance Army was the ground forces branch of the Galactic Alliance Defense Force. Formed from the remnants of the New Republic Army,[1] the Galactic Alliance Army was composed of Galactic Alliance Infantry Troopers, Galactic Alliance Infantry Scouts,[4] and Galactic Alliance officers.[1]
The Army continued to exist until 127 ABY during the traumatic Sith–Imperial War which saw the Galactic Alliance's defeat by the Fel Empire and their One Sith allies. The Galactic Alliance Army was mostly disbanded following its surrender, although some units were absorbed by the Imperial Army. However, a small contingent continued to exist within the Galactic Alliance Core Fleet, under the command of Admiral Gar Stazi, where they conducted hit-and-run attacks similar to those employed by the Alliance to Restore the Republic.[4]
