Gaamja was played aboard the casino cruiser Morenia in 3 ABY[2] during the same time the casino held its Okala Five Kessel Sabacc tournament. An announcement aboard the cruiser guaranteed players a price for a toss over six marks. A cycle earlier a gaamja match was played in the Oseon Belt. During which a human named Zana Gatta was caught attempting to palm the disc. This resulted in her being kicked out of the system. A Rodian aboard the Morenia claimed to have a friend that saw the match when talking to Kay Vess before the Okala Five tournament.[1]

Gaamja was first mentioned in the "Wild Card" expansion for the Massive Entertainment video game Star Wars Outlaws,[1] which was released on November 21, 2024.[3]
