The Fyr assault carbine was a type of slugthrower carbine that was manufactured by Glunok, an obscure Andoan arms manufacturer that offered a wide range of modern combat slugthrowers. It was manufactured as a response to the threat of possible Jedi invasions during the Clone Wars after many Aqualish aligned with the Confederacy of Independent Systems.[1]
The Fyr assault carbine offered a high rate of fire when configured into a compact rifle, which sold well enough to gain distribution deals with major weapon retail outlets such as Galladinium and Loose Cannon Arms. Its rate of fire depleted the weapon's ammunition quickly, which required several kilograms of spare magazines. When fired, the carbine was capable of producing a severe recoil and muzzle climb that made it difficult for effective control and aim, and as a result, the Fyr became more popular with enthusiasts at target ranges than with actual battlefield combatants.[1]
