Fuel droids, or refueling droids, were a type of droids used to refuel starship in place of an organic operator, to reduce the risk of explosion while manipulating explosive liquid metal fuel.[3]
Theed Spaceport on Naboo was equipped with at least four building-sized refueling droids, which were painted yellow.[2]
Behind the scenes
Fuel droids made a brief appearance in Star Wars: Episode II Attack of the Clones.[4] They were first canonically identified as refueling droids in the 2016 reference book Star Wars: Complete Locations, an updated version[2] of a 2005 Star Wars Legends book of the same name.[5]
