A Fresnel lens was a type of lens. The work Affirmation for Amber Day Six: My Love Flows Ambiently and Infinitely made reference to these lenses.[1]
Behind the scenes
A Fresnel lens is a type of lens that is divided into a set of concentric annular sections, originally developed by French physicist Augustin-Jean Fresnel for use in lighthouses.
Fresnel lenses were mentioned in a segment titled "Affirmation for Amber Day Six: My Love Flows Ambiently and Infinitely," written by Bob Carrau for the 1993 book Monsters and Aliens from George Lucas, a publication that collects concept designs and photographs from various George Lucas projects.[1] Lucasfilm employee Leland Chee, who maintains the Holocron continuity database, has indicated that information contained in the book is non-canonical.[2]
