Despite what I said in the Tc for Sonny Eclipse, this character does not appear to be canon either. This entry from Dan Wallace's blog indicates that this character has no entry in the Holocron continuity database: StarWarsDotComBlogsLogoStacked The Last Word in Star Wars on Continuity, Criticisms, and Captain Panaka — Daniel Wallace's StarWars.com Blog (original site is defunct). ~SavageBOB sig 15:02, April 30, 2012 (UTC)

  1. Star Tours is so poorly documented that if there's even a shadow of a doubt about something, it should go. -- Darth Culator (Talk) 16:22, April 30, 2012 (UTC)

  1. Proof of his existence abounds as can be noted with a quick look on Google or YouTube. He is perhaps most definitively identified as a Star Wars character by having a Star Tours mug on his desk inside the Tokyo-version of the ride. Besides, Zzzanmxl was the last Holocron entry in 2008, it's perfectly acceptable that it has changed by now. Stake black msg 15:45, April 30, 2012 (UTC)
  2. If canon were limited to what Leland has in the Holocron, Wookieepedia would only have one tenth of the articles it does now. There's nothing to indicate that this guy isn't as much a part of Star Tours as anyone else, and even if his lines were OOU, it would be no different than Trask Ulgo telling you what buttons to push on your X-box controller. Menkooroo 16:02, April 30, 2012 (UTC)
  3. If the problem is his ambiguous canonicity, then the Template:Ambig tag works just fine. Darth Trayus(Trayus Academy) 18:47, April 30, 2012 (UTC)
  4. I'm inclined to give this one the benefit of the doubt and to tag it with {{Unlicensed}}. I still think the species Zorkies and the planet Zork need to go as fanon, and that his doppelgänger in the US, Sonny Eclipse, is demonstrably not part of the Star Tours ride and needs to go as well. ~SavageBOB sig 20:09, April 30, 2012 (UTC)
  5. There are many things that are in the Holocron that don't necessarily have their own entry in the Holocron. For instance, six or seven years ago when the question was asked in the Official Site forums, all WEG Star Destroyers that hadn't been referenced elsewhere were lumped into a single entry. That doesn't mean that those ships were non-canon; it just means that the Holocron, as an internal Lucasfilm document, is both a work in progress and a file that doesn't need to be as oriented towards individual subjects as an online encyclopedia does. That said, given the unusual provenance of this guy, I'm quite comfortable slapping an ambig tag on him. jSarek 21:06, April 30, 2012 (UTC)
  6. Per above. grunny@wookieepedia:~$ 03:20, May 1, 2012 (UTC)
  7. Of course he had no Holocron entry in 2008. The Flickr source of the image linked by Stake black indicates that the photo was taken in 2011, which would mean that the character is from the new Star Tours, which opened that year and didn't exist in 2008. —MJ— War Room Tuesday, May 1, 2012, 15:53 UTC
    • I don't know if the Tokyo Star Tours got updated the same year as the California one did, though. ~SavageBOB sig 16:02, May 1, 2012 (UTC)
      • SavageBob is right, the new ride is scheduled to open at Tokyo Disneyland in Spring 2013, according to the article you linked. Stake black msg 16:31, May 1, 2012 (UTC)
        • My mistake. I've struck the comment, but the vote stands per the other comments above. —MJ— Jedi Council Chambers Wednesday, May 2, 2012, 01:30 UTC
  8. Keep it and tag with Template:Ambig, per all above comments.--LelalMekha 13:02, May 8, 2012 (UTC)
  9. However much I believe Star Tours should be non-canon (but still included on Wookieepedia, with a non-canon tag), this should be kept. It is no different than any other Star Tours person. Just because the Holocron doesn't include it doesn't mean it doesn't exist. Like User:Menkooroo says, Wookieepedia would be small if it only included that stuff. --The Lampshade... 10. Per all above. It's an ambiguous one and we have plenty of that here. I mean we have Santa Claus. -- Riffsyphon1024 07:48, May 9, 2012 (UTC)
  11. Per all above. --Cumulonimbus Cloud 02:19, May 12, 2012 (UTC)
  12. Seems ambiguous, but per Riff. By the way, I think a Santa Claus GA might be fun to do. Hmmm...--Exiled Jedi Oldrepublic crest (Greetings) 17:36, May 12, 2012 (UTC)

  • I'll concede that this character is in a strange position regarding SW canon, but from what Google tells us, he is a part of Tokyo's Star Tours just as much as any other character on the ride. Stake black msg 15:07, April 30, 2012 (UTC)
    • Can you provide a better source than Google? I can find videos of him, but he seems to be outside the main ride, not part of it. ~SavageBOB sig 15:19, April 30, 2012 (UTC)
      • I scrutinized the photo we have of him, and there are a couple of links to the ride: the screen behind him mentions "Bespin weather," and he has a Star Tours mug. Still... ~SavageBOB sig 15:29, April 30, 2012 (UTC)
        • Precisely. I'm not sure that just because something wasn't in the Holocron (as of 2008) means that it's definitely not in the Star Wars universe. Leland could have obviously let something slip, and a secondary character from a Japanese version of Star Tours seems to me the kind of thing that LFL would not notice. But I think the mug sort of speaks for itself. I can't think of any other source apart from Google: there are plenty of images and videos of him. Stake black msg 15:38, April 30, 2012 (UTC)
          • There are presumably Star Tours mugs in the gift shop, too, but that doesn't make the gift shop part of canon... I think perhaps we need a translation of what he's saying. If he's making in-universe references, that's a sign to keep his article. If he's referring to things like the gift shop of the park outside, that's grounds for deletion. Anyone speak Japanese? ~SavageBOB sig 15:43, April 30, 2012 (UTC)
          • I asked a Japanese friend to listen to the videos of the character. She says he's saying he wants a "planetary delicatessen" to open up nearby, and he ushers patrons to the "intergalactic pizza port" outside (there's apparently a pizza food court or something outside the hallway). As Menkooroo notes, this may be irrelevant to whether he's canon or not, but at least his dialogue appears to be ambiguously out-of-universe. ~SavageBOB sig 16:51, April 30, 2012 (UTC)
            • Not even kidding about this: I had a dream a few weeks ago that I was looking through old FAnoms, and all of your old ones included comments from you saying "I'm nomming this one from Japan!" Menkooroo 18:40, April 30, 2012 (UTC)
              • Ha! Too much time on the site, Menk? ;P I'm not sure I ever made a comment like that, but I did used to live in Japan! ~SavageBOB sig 19:34, April 30, 2012 (UTC)
                • A few nights ago, I had a dream that I was reverting fanon and about to issue a block. Then, the following night, I was patrolling the Recent Changes and thwarting a vandal. I need a vacation as much as Menk does. :P Trak Nar Ramble on 07:59, May 9, 2012 (UTC)
