Second Battle of Adumar (talk - history - links - logs)

This article is redundant, as it describes the very same Battle of Adumar that was described in X-Wing: Starfighters of Adumar. Reasoning: the "first" battle that The Essential Chronology mentions could have been the Adumari Civil War, but since I don't have that source, checking it is impossible for me.--Goodwood 07:16, 11 August 2007 (UTC)

  1. This is apparently a second battle, following the first. On pg. 122 of The Essential Chronology (and on pg 177 of The New Essential Chronology, lightly rephrased), it states: "After Nam Chorios, the New Republic pressed the advantage and entered Moff Getelles's Antemeridian sector with two full fleets. Getelles was powerless to stop them, and the sector—along with a huge chunk of neighboring space—became New Republic territory. Admiral Pellaeon, initially preoccupied with a protracted campaign against Adumar, was eventually able to stop his enemy from advancing into the heart of the Empire, though the effort cost him the Super Star Destroyer Reaper." To be clear, this is in a different section from the one discussing Starfighters of Adumar and follows the events of Planet of Twilight. Judging by this, after Adumar joined the NR following the first battle there, Pellaeon launched a renewed campaign against the world. jSarek 22:39, 11 August 2007 (UTC)
    • The phrase "protracted campaign against Adumar" could, IMO at least, simply refer to the "diplomatic" mission, the civil war in which Imperial forces (albeit only four TIE Interceptors) fought, then the later fleet battle and that this is just a clarifying reference within another section to establish a date/time. All IMO and purely speculative on my part of course since I own neither media, but it seems to be a possible explanation at least.--Goodwood 19:31, 12 August 2007 (UTC)
  2. Keep. Pellaeon wasn't even in Starfighters of Adumar, so how could this be the same battle? Wildyoda 20:02, 12 August 2007 (UTC)
  3. Keep. Couldn't possibly be the same battle. Atarumaster88 Jedi Order (Talk page) 15:05, 16 August 2007 (UTC)
