Mission to Cato Neimoidia (talk - history - links - logs)
This article has so far set an unnecessary precedence for the site. Yes, it has existed for almost a year now, but an event that offers no kind of military action or anything that would otherwise qualify it as a battle (there isn't even a blaster fired, a lightsaber drawn, anything, throughout the entire event) should not be treated as a "mission" and should therefore not be given a battle article. The info has already been in the Battle of Dorin and Second Battle of Geonosis articles where it belongs for a long time now, so as the information would not be lost with the "Mission to Cato Neimoidia" article, I propose that we complete the process by deleting this unnecessary article. I personally do not agree with the article being redirected anywhere, as there's really no one place that it can or should go. If anyone has any suggestions about this, feel free to make them in the Discussion section. CC7567 (talk) 05:58, September 26, 2010 (UTC)

- This sets a bad precedent, I'm afraid. We don't need mission articles for every diplomatic undertaking and circus of intrigue in canon. Toprawa and Ralltiir 18:24, September 27, 2010 (UTC)
- I understand what you're saying, Tope. But I'd like to point out this was not just an everyday diplomatic function, or a "circus of intrigue", as you put it. This was a vital intelligence gathering mission for the Republic. That makes it warrant an article. - JMAS

- Considered doing this a while back. Per Tope. This was essentially a high-tension dinner date. Darth Trayus(Trayus Academy) 07:17, September 29, 2010 (UTC)

Keep
- Weak keep. I don't see how "military action" is needed to have an article. As long as it's a clearly defined mission like this, I think it deserves an article, though it probably wouldn't take much to convince me otherwise. Master Jonathan

- Per MJ. Just because there was no blaster fired (though Clovis did pull a holdout blaster on Dod) or lightsaber drawn has absolutely no bearing on anything. It was a legitimate espionage mission sanctioned by the Jedi Council. - JMAS

- Completely legitimate article based on a set of events in an episode, whether or not a blaster was fired, per JMAS and others above me. Despite mentions in other articles, this article is a lot more detailed than the others which discuss the events of the episode. Also, it could be made longer and nicer with quotes and all if we kept it.--ID-21 Dolphin
(Talk) 22:29, October 8, 2010 (UTC) - I have no problem including missions if they are either sanctioned events that served a distinct purpose or actions that, while perhaps not outright sanctioned, were pivotal events. — Fiolli 19:52, October 10, 2010 (UTC)
