Mandalorian Shocktrooper (history - links - logs - delete - protect)
This is an issue pending a merge since 2006. A few other users have gone through it and either removed sources or also added their own confirmation tags. I myself checked the sources and didn't find anything implying the Mandalorian Shocktrooper as a different entity from the established Mandalorian Neo-Crusader Shock Troopers. Even the article (whoever wrote it) doesn't do any effort to reflect any difference. As the Mandalorian shock trooper is mentioned (referring to the Neo-Crusaders shock troopers) I propose a redirect instead of a deletion. Winterz (talk) 17:24, April 11, 2019 (UTC)

- I don't have the sources, so I voted based off what was present. I'm striking until all the relevant information has been discussed below. MasterFred

Comments
- Sorry to be a stick in the mud, but I might have some issues with this. I have a few concerns that perhaps someone can address for me:
- Firstly, where exactly does the precise term Mandalorian Shocktrooper come from? Because "The History of the Mandalorians" and The Complete Star Wars Encyclopedia both format the term as Mandalorian shock trooper.
- "The History of the Mandalorians" seems to define pretty clearly what a Mandalorian shock trooper is: "The Mandalorian shock troopers have undergone many permutations. The oldest documented incarnation is the Mandalorian Crusaders from around 4000-5000 years BBY," while noting that they followed "a code called the Canons of Honor." The Complete Star Wars Encyclopedia defines Mandalorian shock troopers as "Supercommando warriors who followed the Canons of Honor of the ancient Mandalorians."
- I'm therefore interpreting this to mean that "Mandalorian shock trooper" is basically an umbrella term to refer to various versions of Mandalorian soldiers over the years. So it would seem inappropriate to merge this more general term into the more specific "Neo-Crusader Shock Trooper." Rather, it seems that Neo-Crusader Shock Troopers are one incarnation of the Mandalorian shock troopers. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 18:34, April 11, 2019 (UTC)
- Nice, at least that is dealt with. Can we scrap this TC in any way so we just handle it that way, or isn't consensus necessary? Winterz (talk) 18:54, April 11, 2019 (UTC)
- Well, I'd still like to know where the term Mandalorian Shocktrooper comes from, since right now it looks like this article should be kept and moved to Mandalorian shock trooper. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 18:57, April 11, 2019 (UTC)
- As I mentioned above, I found "Mandalorian shock trooper". I did not find any Mandalorian Shocktrooper but it is a common typo among shock trooper articles. Winterz (talk) 19:01, April 11, 2019 (UTC)
- From Knights of the Old Republic 8, one of the Mandalorians says, "On the night side, the first shock troops report minimal resistance..." I'm definitely in favor of moving this article. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 19:11, April 11, 2019 (UTC)
- Also from that same issue's opening crawl: "...the leader of the Mandalorian shock troops!" Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 19:19, April 11, 2019 (UTC)
