List of planets (including List of planets A-Z) (talk - history - links - logs)
Even though we decided to keep those lists fairly recently, the publication of the Online Appendix to the Atlas faces us with necessity to decided what to do with them again. This is not a typical vote to delete a page, but rather an attempt to decide what to with them.
Option 1: delete all those pages. With the information about planet-system-sector-region available online for everyone keeping it here might be redundant and even seem copyvio to someone. We will lose information about the planet's capital and inhabitants in that case.
Option 2: keep and expand those pages with all new Atlas info, bringing it up to 4,387 systems of the Appendix. However, in that case we will have to reorganize it into the List of systems to avoid losing information adbout systems with no planets. I also insist on using a new naming format: List of systems/A instead of List of sytems A.
Option 3: keep as it is. Leave this awfully incomplete lists dwell where they are.
That's it, there will be no fourth option. MauserComlink 18:37, September 1, 2009 (UTC)
Delete all articles
- Per the tidbit about copyvio above. Everything we do is questionable in regards to fair use anyway, and we don't need to make our position worse by effectively copying straight from the official site, of all places. —Master Jonathan(Jedi Council Chambers) 19:35, September 1, 2009 (UTC)
- And yet none of the officials ever complained about what we're doing, many author themselves admitted to use Wookieepedia in their research, not to mention that having copy of the Index would be incredibly useful should the official site ever take down all useful stuff again. - Just because "none of the officials ever complained about what we're doing" doesn't mean they can't sue us tomorrow.
- The authors aren't Lucasfilm.
- Then I suggest keeping the copy on your own hard drive so as not to jeopardize the entire Wook. Though I should point out that even if they do take it down, that doesn't mean we can suddenly post a copy here, as it would still be covered by copyright laws. —Master Jonathan(Jedi Council Chambers) 19:47, September 1, 2009 (UTC)

Keep and reorganize into the List of Systems

- Per Mauser's reasoning above. Copyvio isn't really an issue here I don't think. -- AdmirableAckbar (Talk) 21:53, September 1, 2009 (UTC)
- Even if the officials decide they don't like this, I'm sure they wil attempt to contact us about the issue before any legal action is taken. SoresuMakashi(Everything I tell you is the truth) 05:45, September 6, 2009 (UTC)

- Hesitant vote for this. —Xwing328(Talk) 16:38, September 17, 2009 (UTC)
Keep as it is
- Since I can't add any options, this comes closest to what I think we ought to do. There is no reason we should be changing this from a list of planets to a list of systems, especially since the online appendix isn't specifically about systems in the first place. We should be adding the new Atlas info, but the lists should be about the planets themselves, not their systems. jSarek 08:31, September 16, 2009 (UTC)

As usual, I will ask you not to add any new vote options. Three is more enough already. MauserComlink 18:37, September 1, 2009 (UTC)
