The result of the debate was: Overwhelming consensus to delete among actual Wookieepedians. Darth Culator (Talk) 16:04, 2 August 2007 (UTC)

This mod doesn't seem notable enough to me. I think it should be redirected to the list of fanpages. --Eyrezer 01:26, 25 July 2007 (UTC)

- I didn't care one way or the other until I saw how the fanboys are behaving. Now I want it deleted just to annoy them. (Spite is a valid reason to vote. Admin's prerogative.) -- Darth Culator (Talk) 23:56, 1 August 2007 (UTC)

TheOne&OnlyAdmirableAckbar (It's A Trap!) 00:00, 2 August 2007 (UTC)- Per Culator. The article is indeed well detailed and has been mentioned in "official" magazines. I am sympathetic due to this and the fact is that it is more detailed then *cough* other mod articles. But the developers seem hellbent on drawing attention to it which just begs for spite. No modesty. Tsk, tsk. --Redemption
Talk 00:20, 2 August 2007 (UTC) - I vote Delete not out of spite and not because it isn't notable, but because every other game engine out there probably has an equally impressive mod with an equally dedicated team of people behind it, and we don't need articles on every single one of them; that's what the SWGames wiki is for. Gonk (Gonk!) 12:07, 2 August 2007 (UTC)
- We shouldn't have articles on unreleased mods as they become little more than advertisements. —Jaymach Ral'Tir (talk) 13:55, 2 August 2007 (UTC)

- At the least it could be added to the List of references to Star Wars in video games, though there's a lot of information here. Regardless, it appears the modders did pay attention to detail. -- Riffsyphon1024 05:59, 25 July 2007 (UTC)

Keep: It won the 3rd Most Anticipated Mod of the Year award for 2007. Many people have stated they are planning to buy Battlefield 2142 just for this mod. It certainly is notable. --Safe-Keeper 01:40, 25 July 2007 (UTC)
- And who issued that award? Gonk (Gonk!) 01:46, 25 July 2007 (UTC)
- The Mod Database, a major site dedicated to keeping track of mods for FPS games. The contest had four thousand mods running against each others, and First Strike won third place in the Most Anticipated Mod category. I expect it to reach as big a fan base as Galactic Conquest, which article has not been deleted (or should that be deleted, too?). As a side note, allow me to correct myself - it won the award in 2006, not 2007. Sorry about that. --Safe-Keeper 02:33, 25 July 2007 (UTC)
Along with that, DICE enabled a command code line in on of the recent BF2142 patches that enables space combat. Afaik First Strike is the only mod for 2142 featuring spacecombat.
Am I correct in my thinking that only the votes of established registered contributors to Wookieepedia are valid for Trash Compactor voting? If that's the case, neither TY2D2 nor Generalandrew's votes are valid. I almost wonder if they aren't sockpuppet accounts. - JMAS 05:55, 25 July 2007 (UTC)
- I just struck them out, and I'm going to semi-protect the page. I'm also voting to delete; I've never liked the whole mode concept anyway. -- SFH 06:02, 25 July 2007 (UTC)
- Actually, they're not sock puppets at all. They're First Strike developers:p. --Safe-Keeper 06:49, 25 July 2007 (UTC)
- JMAS: If we're following the new policy, NONE of the pro-keep voters should still have a vote there. Check contribs. π = 3

- Be that as it may, I feel I'm on solid ground what my reasoning is concerned. The award, Dutch media coverage (if sources can be provided), and member count should count for something.

Did anyone know btw that First Strike got national media coverage on Dutch television? It was mentioned on reknowed gameshow Gamekings, as well as on the Power Unlimited (largest game magazine in the Benelux) website. Source: http://www.gamekings.tv/?p=250 , website: http://www.powerweb.nl/nieuws.jsp?rubriek=423263&id=1145250 (it's in Dutch, can't help that, use Babelfish for the site)
Also featured in BF Podcast nr 53 (http://www.battlefieldpodcast.com/), Planet Battlefield (front page somwhat down), Battlefield2.nl, TotalBF2.com.
It also has more than 1000 members on the First Strike message board.
JMAS: What's it matter whether or not this is a mod for a Star Wars game? Notability is largely decided by press coverage, 'Google juice' (of which this mod has plenty - it comes out first when I Google it), and so on. First Strike is Star Wars-related and has a large following, and thus should have an article here. Safe-Keeper 07:25, 25 July 2007 (UTC)
- They're not sockpuppets, they're First Strike developers. That seems a bit of a break in the spirit of the rules, if not a break of the letter of the rules. -- SFH 21:35, 27 July 2007 (UTC)
- "has a large following" ... Can you provide some numbers? Gonk (Gonk!) 23:16, 27 July 2007 (UTC)
- These are from sites referenced on the First Strike Wookeepedia page.

Would anyone point me toward where it says in the rules that admins may delete what they want simply by not liking the person/people who edit an article? The "Admin's prerogative" as Darth_Culator put it. I have searched the site and can not find it listed in the delete page or anywhere else. As if that is not a true valid reason there are only two true vote to delete that has any reason behind it, Jaymach who does have a valid point and Gonk.RagNoRock 15:31, 2 August 2007 (UTC)
