Edathan (talk - history - links - logs)

This article is extrapolation form a single line in the novel Shield of Lies: "Senator Krall Praget of Edatha, chairman of the CSI, leaned back in his chair and combed his fingers back through his skulldown." So, basically, what we can tell from the OS is that there is an alien senator from the planet Edatha, but there is nothing to indicate that he's a member of a species called the Edathans, nor that he or his species is even native to Edatha. In other words, Senator Praget's species should be listed as unidentified on his article, and we should delete this article as speculation. ~ SavageBob 03:53, September 5, 2010 (UTC)

  • I've check the other sources in which Krall Praget and Edatha are mentioned, but none suggests that there is a species called Edathan; none even makes Praget out to be an alien, for that matter (except for Shield of Lies with its "skulldown" reference). Unless CSWE says otherwise in either Edatha's or Praget's entries. ~ SavageBob 14:43, September 5, 2010 (UTC)

Keep

  1. If what's at issue is the naming, and not the fact that we have a new unidentified alien species to document, it should be given a conjecture tag or possibly moved to a new name, not deleted. Havac 04:28, September 7, 2010 (UTC)
    • Well, we know precious little about Kall Praget's species: They had "skulldown", Kall Praget was one, at least one of their number lived on Edatha. If the article is rewritten like this and renamed Kall Praget's species, then, yes, this is a viable option. Better to delete and have a clean slate I think, though, but YMMV. :) ~ SavageBob 14:16, September 7, 2010 (UTC)
