Balance of the Force (talk - history - links - logs)
OOU article, unsourced and filled with OR. Definitely not worthy of its own page.--Goodwood (Alliance Intelligence) 06:36, 9 March 2008 (UTC)

Keep
Merge with Chosen One
- To my knowledge, the importance of "balance of the Force" only comes up in the context of "The One who will bring balance to the Force." Thus, add what little new stuff there is here (cleaned up and sourced, of course) to that article, primarily its Bts section. jSarek 21:19, 11 March 2008 (UTC)
I'm assuming that as the creator of the article my vote doesn't count but I'd be happy with this as a compromise. I created the article because it seemed to me kind of strange that so many articles reference the Balance of the Force but no where is it actually explained what it means. It's a pretty gaping hole in coverage considering that it is one of, if not the, central concept to the saga. --Obscured 22:14, 11 March 2008 (UTC)(Stricken by jSarek as per Forum:CT:Single issue voters)- Alas, your vote currently doesn't count - not because you're the creator of the article, but because you don't have enough contributions to overcome this policy at this time. jSarek 23:01, 11 March 2008 (UTC)
- To quote Mace, "you think it's this boy?". Balance of the Force is a canonical concept, but because of the lack of information, it should probably be merged with Chosen One, since the Chosen One is the one that will... well you know already. -- Riffsyphon1024 22:47, 11 March 2008 (UTC)
- Per jSarek, on the slim chance that there's something useable here. Atarumaster88

- There's some useful stuff in there, sure. (But IIRC, no one in the films refers to a thing called "The Balance of the Force," just bringing small-b "balance" to the Force.) —Silly Dan (talk) 01:42, 17 March 2008 (UTC)
- Per jSarek and Silly Dan. This isn't that bad, but it definitely doesn't belong here. Gonk (Gonk!) 14:55, 20 March 2008 (UTC)

creator of the article here, I'm curious, how is it OOU? The OOU stuff is clearly all marked and in the Behind the Scenes section as recomended in the manual of style. As for OR, the sources are stated. If it helps the last two paragraphs could easily be removed. --Obscured 06:44, 9 March 2008 (UTC)
addition: I feel I should also point out that the article meets none of the requirements for deletion. It passes the google test, with 24,000 results for the phrase "Balance of the Force" (minus those refering to an unrelated music album of the same name) which is far more than, to pick a completely random example, the 3,390 results for "Baragwin", and is most likely more than a great many other article titles too. It is also not fanon, and is not patent nonsense or vandalism. I'll be the first to admit it needs some improving, but that's not grounds for deletion, it's grounds for keeping it so other editors can improve on my initial efforts! --Obscured 06:57, 9 March 2008 (UTC)
- I can understand how you feel, but bear in mind that the Trash Compactor process is not the same as the Candidates for Speedy Deletion one. Any article can be TCed, even Luke Skywalker; CSDs are meant for new articles that are obviously fanon, vandalism, or otherwise posted in bad faith.--Goodwood
