People, I think we were wrong while deleting the page for The Clone Wars: Decoded episodes. A couple of episodes have aired, and they actualy have some new info in them. So, how do we supposed to source it? One editor just listed the regular episode as a source, though the subject goes unnamed in it. Another linked to the video on StarWars.com, which may be removed in the future. I think we actually need a single page for all decoded episodes, like we have for the Visual Guides and then list sources as something like:
Any other suggestions? MauserComlink 20:27, 9 May 2009 (UTC)
- As I said earlier: we should just include a "Decoded notes" section in the episode's article for any and all new info. —Lucius malfoy7 Talk • Reference 21:11, 11 May 2009 (UTC)
- Sounds good to me. Master JonathanJedi Council Chambers 20:40, 9 May 2009 (UTC)
- I stil think it is redundant. We can source articles like this:
QuiGonJinnThere's always a bigger fish. 04:32, 10 May 2009 (UTC)
- I think it sounds good. Redundant, yes, but hey, if there's actually some useful new info, then the redundancy has served its purpose nicely. Though, when I watch the Decoded episodes, I can't help but wonder how many fellow Wookieepedians are watching and going "NO CRAP! Obvious factoid is obvious!" - I feel it's too redundant. There are usually only a few facts (that are not trivia) that are revealed. I don't see the use of creating another article for that purpose; to me, it's close to one of the dreaded list articles. The new information revealed can just be listed in the Bts, or maybe in a new "Decoded" section. For TCW, template, I have a suggestion: as long as there's a "Decoded" section for each episode's article, the link to that section can just be added to TCW template itself. However, as for sourcing the Decoded episodes, I'm at a loss. Appearances are different from sources, and when using the Decoded episodes as sources, I don't believe that they should be used with TCW template, because it's implying that the episode itself is a source rather than an appearance. Actually, QuiGonJinn's variant is fine to me. I think we shouls stick with that one. MauserComlink 09:26, 10 May 2009 (UTC)
- I don't think you need to put TCW Decoded anywhere in the appearances or sources section. It'd be like putting DVD commentary or somesuch there. If there's info from it, specify that it's from the Decoded episode in a ref note, but to me that's enough. -- AdmirableAckbar (Talk) 10:30, 10 May 2009 (UTC)
- And to add to my proposal. We can create a template that will produce (Decoded). Actually, I've already made it on my workbench page, just waiting for community decision. QuiGonJinnThere's always a bigger fish. 10:37, 10 May 2009 (UTC)
- Per AdmirableAckbar above. —Xwing328(Talk) 16:55, 10 May 2009 (UTC)
- The way I dealt with it in Rugosa was to only have the one entry in the Sources section, but when reffing the particular fact, it give it a separate ref tag that had (Decoded) alongside it. This is just a variation on chosing to provide a page number, or chapter number or other specific sourcing information, without cluttering the Source/Appearance list. Linking to the Decoded section of TCW would make this work even better. --Eyrezer 05:55, 14 May 2009 (UTC)
- Actually, yeah, I'm for what QuiGon and Eyrezer did. It looks fine to me. My only concern is that I'm not sure if there's going to be Decoded episodes for future seasons, so we might want to consider making a separate template for now for the existing Decoded episodes, perhaps {{TCWD}} or something. Also, I'm not sure if the Decoded bit should appear under the appearances, because I'm not sure whether the Decoded episodes are an appearance or a source. CC7567 (talk) 16:04, 15 May 2009 (UTC)
- Ok, using the existing {{TCW}} template as a basis, I've made {{TCWD}}. Its usage is the same as the normal TCW template, but it also adds (Decoded). QuiGonJinnThere's always a bigger fish. 07:09, 16 May 2009 (UTC)
- Having an extra template that only differs slightly from {{TCW}} is pointless, so I merged them. Add

I was thinking if the Star Wars Clone Wars Season 1 Complete Visual Guide (shown here http://www.starwars.com/theclonewars/news20090604.html ) has the decoding information. I missed the Malevolence Trilogy decoded episodes. Is there any way they will put a Decoded Episode Marathon for all 22 episodes like they did the marathon back in December 08?
