As some of you may be aware I've recently been appending the: {{confirm-battletitle}} to a number of pages. However, am constantly having users remove this tag without explanation through unexplained reverts followed by subsequent separate edits to a page and then finally users adding a: {{conjecture}} tag. I'm getting the feeling that users are misinterpreting the use of this tag and removing the tag or simply adding a {{conjecture}} tag to pages by mistake without first verifying with the sources listed in articles. Is there any way of clarifying the use of these tags to users as my own attempts seem to be failing? Rokkur Shen (talk) 00:34, January 17, 2013 (UTC)
- Hi there, I removed a couple of the "confirm-battle" tags, including Liberation of Kashyyyk, because they are clearly identified in their sources. It's my understanding that we don't need "First identified" in every case. Corellian Premier

- I'm now trying to limit it's use to where there are multiple sources for a battle but where not even a (First appearance)/(First mention) has been used. Rokkur Shen (talk) 04:28, January 17, 2013 (UTC)

- I'm just gonna say here what I said in your talk page: Adding those tags to whatever battle that has a conjecture tag on it, without propper evidence, will not solve anything and contributes in nothing to the Wookieepedia. The Conjecture tag works as "Not Identified in any material" and that itself already provides proof. If you can dispute that claim, then sure go ahead and add the Confirm tag. If not, then you shouldn't add it as it is futile. It's like adding a "Needs sourcing" or a "Needs expansion" template to every single article that isn't fully sourced or expanded. At least, that's where my opinion stands. Winterz (talk) 00:57, January 17, 2013 (UTC)
