Recently, many new WookieeProjects have been started and other, mostly new editors, have expressed their interest in starting WookieeProjects. It's great that Wookieepedians are working together to improve the site, of course, and I'm not saying any of the recently started projects should not have been started, but there seems to exist some confusion as to what WookieeProjects are and when starting one would be beneficial. Wookieepedia:WookieeProject exists as kind of a hub page for WookieeProjects, but it's mostly a copy of the Wikipedia counterpart (from 2005-ish) and a list of existing WookieeProjects.
It's clear to me that we need a better hub page to explain what WookieeProjects are and updating a 2005-era page is always good. With that in mind, I've rewritten the page and intend to make it formal policy after a feedback round. A diff is available here. Some key points:
- The proposed policy mostly just codifies existing practice. Nothing is going to happen to existing projects.
- The proposed policy is mostly recommendations. While it strongly suggests you gather 3+ Wookieepedians before you start, there is no hard rule and my intention is not to create a bureaucratic process for new projects.
All feedback is welcome. 1358 (Talk) 09:41, 3 September 2021 (UTC)

- A revision of that is most welcome, and I like everything so far! Linking the WP infobox could be helpful as well. A question that's come up a few times, paraphrased: "how do I revive an inactive WookieeProject?" Immi Thrax
