Hi everyone!
Today i'm here to talk about the battles in The Star Wars: Episode VIII The Last Jedi. Right now, we have three battles from The Last Jedi:
However, there is some issues with the page for the battle of Oetchi and Crait. The main issue is that we are treating the page that used to be called "attack on the Resistance fleet" as the entirety of the of the time between Oetchi and Crait. However, this is inaccurate to Star Wars: Battles that Changed the Galaxy (which is where we got the name "Battle of Oetchi" from) does not treat the battle of Oetchi this way, instead putting the battle's end before even the mutiny on the Raddus, and putting the destruction of the Supremacy as part of the "Crait" section (though notably under it's own part and it's only a small bit while the rest of the Crait pages cover the ground assault). I would also like to bring up that Star Wars: The Last Jedi: Incredible Cross-Sections uses the name "retreat to Crait" for the period of time between after the battle of D'qar to the battle of Crait. given that the Battle of Oetchi is now it's own thing within the retreat to Crait, i'd like to redo the battles as follows (reasoning will be put below and the list is in chronological order)
- Battle of D'Qar - Remains the same
- retreat to Crait - becomes a campaign
- Battle of Oetchi - becomes a separate article and is just the battle in the Oetchi system per Star Wars: Battles that Changed the Galaxy
- Mission to Canto Bight - this already has a page and is it's own separate thing anyways
- Mutiny on the Raddus (conjectural title) - it happened so it should probably get a page
- Infiltration of the Supremacy (conjectural title) - this would cover Finn and Rose Tico's infiltration of the Supremacy (precedent is Escape from Cloud City which happens at the same time as Duel on Cloud City)
- Assassination of Snoke (conjectural title) - this would cover the stuff with Snoke, Kylo Ren, and Rey (precedent is Duel on Cloud City, which happens during the Escape from Cloud City)
- Slaughter of the Crait system (conjectural title; title could be different or article can be removed) - this would coves the Supremacy destroying most remaining ships in and the Holdo maneuver (i feel the previous two could also be merged into this and call it battle of Crait system)
- Battle of Crait
my (new) current proposed lineup for TLJ battles is based on comments so far (20/11/25):
- Battle of D'Qar - Remains the same
- retreat to Crait/First Order attack on the Resistance fleet - becomes a campaign
- Mission to Canto Bight - this already has a page and is it's own separate thing anyways
- Mutiny on the Raddus - (per Ultimate Star Wars, New Edition and Through the Turbulence) - (maybe)
- Battle of the Crait system - combines Finn and Rose's infiltration of the Supremacy, Snoke's death and Kylo/Rey stuff and the killing of resistance ships
- Battle of Crait (not part of the campaign)
Let me know what you think below, and i'd be glad to answer any questions any of you have!

- Yeah, I've felt that we should have split these a bit ago, but it's just a bit of a large thing to do without some sort of discussion as to what would work best. I'm mostly fine with the options bar one and maybe another. Personally, I'd say the slaughter one doesn't need a separate page, it can just be covered on the Rose/Finn mission and also on the main retreat page, where it's a bit more relevant. I also feel the mutiny one could be covered in the same way, but I wouldn't be against a page being made if a non-conjectural name exists Lewisr (talk) 03:53, 18 November 2025 (UTC)
- I'll take a look to see if there is an ID of the mutiny anywhere RocketLaunchJr1 Ever been to Ghorman? 04:02, 18 November 2025 (UTC)
- I can confirm, its called the "mutiny on the Raddus" on page 147 of Ultimate Star Wars, New Edition. The capitalization was then confirmed in Through the Turbulence, which sees Poe reflect "Well, not counting his mutiny on the Raddus. That definitely hadn't gone so well." - I do not believe that the Assassination of Snoke or the Infiltration of the Supremacy should get different pages. Maybe having one page for both would be more appropriate. --Vitus InfinitusTalk 04:42, 18 November 2025 (UTC)
- After D'Qar and before Crait, the film basically shows one long space battle, i.e. the retreat to Crait. This is inclusive of the Battle of Oetchi, the mutiny, the infiltration, the fight in Snoke's throne room, the Holdo maneuvre, Finn and Phasma's duel and the rebels' escape. As others have said above, I don't think these all need their own articles, though an article on the throne room fight would be good since it's quite complex and is a very significant event, like the lightsaber fight articles we've got for other films. The mission to Canto Bight works well as a concurrent event. OOM 224 17:47, 18 November 2025 (UTC)
- Funniest possible outcome just dropped. The Little Golden Book adaption of all things uses the "attack on the Resistance fleet" name: "General Leia's son, Kylo Ren, led the First Order attack on the Resistance fleet." Editoronthewiki (talk) 18:01, 18 November 2025 (UTC)
- The problem is the battle of Oetchi is identified as it's own thing that ends before the mutiny via Star Wars: Battles that Changed the Galaxy (and the mutiny is also identified in another book), so calling the two one in the same is incorrect and more than one thing during the chase happened. I do understand the issue though, that's why i came up with the campaign solution to fix this. RocketLaunchJr1 Ever been to Ghorman? 12:18, 20 November 2025 (UTC)
