I was talking to Timothy Zahn earlier in Facebook about the relationship between the Hand of Judgment and the 501st Legion. He said the following: "Yes, Su-mil's group (and all other 501st units from the Empire of the Hand) ultimately stem from the Hand of Judgment training course." While he was more vague about the second half of my question (if the "new 501st" should be considered as a separate unit from the "original 501st"), in a way that above sentence answers that, too. More so, than Zahn's later note about the similar ideologies shared by the two teams. While the idea of the groups is to be "the best of the best", they do follow very different ideologies concerning the most crucial point which separates them: the attitude toward the aliens. If I have done my reading right, the original 501st was reluctant to accept anything but clones, while the "new 501st" was formed with the purpose of accepting aliens into the mix. You can read the conversation Zahn and I had in here.--Dionne Jinn (Something to say?) 12:42, September 1, 2012 (UTC)
