Just wondering of there is any Wookiepedia page dedicated to allusions and references found in the SW universe. I think this would be a neat idea (if it doesn't already exist).--Masterbmw 04:40, November 30, 2011 (UTC)
- We actually have eight such pages:
- List of references to Earth in Star Wars
- List of references in Star Wars
- List of references to Star Wars in miscellanea

- List of references to Star Wars in music
- List of references to Star Wars in television
- List of references to Star Wars in video games
- List of references to Star Wars in webcomics

- Shows how lazy I am and how bad I am at keywoard searches. I'll have a good time reading these, thanks! Also wondering if there are any pages related to the thematic elements of the franchise and what messages it tries to get across (deliberately or not). My Univerity library has a lot of books discussing the treatments of race, colonialism/imperialism, religion, politics, and cultural identity found in Star Wars movies and I was wondering if Wookepedia has pages dealing with scholarly books and articles of this nature.--69.159.110.43 06:00, November 30, 2011 (UTC)
- We don't because of our policies against doing Original Research, applying out of universe knowledge and research to justify things or ideas about things in Star Wars. Scholarly papers and criticisms basically codify that as they analyze the films as art meant to inspire interpretation, another thing we don't allow in articles. Very few of the ideas put forth in them were directly intended by the filmakers. NaruHina Talk

- I think I disagree, Naru. We don't allow original research by our editors, but that doesn't stop us from mentioning pertinent OR by notable outsiders. Like, if Dan Wallace says in his blog that he thinks Random Alien 3 in Comic Y is probably a Triffian, we often mention that kind of thing. As such, I don't see the problem with mentioning something like, "Scholar A has written that Darth Vader represents the Third Reich" or whatever, provided the publication is reputable and not just some fan blog or 'zine. Then again, I don't think such information is necessary for us to consider an article "complete" either. ~Savage
