Per last night's Mofference, the Wikia welcome bot should be disabled. From looking at the instructions at User:Wikia, changing MediaWiki:Welcome-user to @disabled should do the trick. Master Jonathan Jedi Council Chambers Sunday, April 3, 2011, 17:52 UTC
