Forums > Administrators' noticeboard archive > NB: Hyperspace webcomic images
I've just updated an article, Santhou Lazith'chika, using here an image from the webstrip Rookies: Rendezvous originally appearing as Hyperspace-only material (no longer available there as far as I can find). Having found no written policy about use of partial images from Hyperspace, I understand I can use it as per these precedents:
- Tay Vanis,
- Lens Reekeene,
- Drake Lo'gaan,
- Ekria,
- Zonder,
- Antinnis Tremayne,
- Armand Isard,
- Kodo Finn,
- Boushh,
- Gwellib Ap-Llewff,
- Lanu Pasiq,
- Smileredon-Verdont,
- Mar Barezz,
- Gribbet,
- Ten-Suckers Madoom,
- R2-D0,
- Skivvers
Some of these are FA's. If those images can't used, this is a good moment to tell, to write that policy somewhere and to update all those articles. --Skippy Farlstendoiro 08:03, November 2, 2009 (UTC)
- Taking a tiny fraction of a work that does not impact its economic viability, and using it for for nonprofit critical or academic analysis, is at the very heart of the Fair Use doctrine. The tiny bit you used for Santhou should be no issue. jSarek 08:38, November 2, 2009 (UTC)
- Thank you for your quick answer; I'll bear this in mind in the future. --Skippy Farlstendoiro 09:00, November 2, 2009 (UTC)
