Hi there admin!
I have a request/suggestion that may seem kind of silly but I hope you’ll consider it. A few times on his page Wrecker is referred to as “unintelligent” and similar words because he is loud, has a stuffed animal, is easily confused, etc.
I work with disabled communities and none of these things mean a person is unintelligent. I think it would be better for the fandom and for people with traumatic brain injury or developmental delays who identify with Wrecker to not come across this language on his bio, as it promotes ableism among abled people and hurts disabled people.
I don’t mean to be annoying, but is there a way to describe Wrecker without describing him as stupid? Do you mind adjusting this language? The Star Wars fandom is very inclusive, so I have no doubt you understand. I’d very much appreciate this.
Thank you for your time and understanding. —Unsigned comment by Maisee (talk • contribs)
- Hi there. I'm not an admin, but I've gone ahead and revised Wrecker's article per your suggestions, which are especially warranted since the episodes don't make any explicit reference to his intelligence. For the future, the Senate Hall would be better for a question like this, and I'd encourage you to be bold and try your hand at editing the article yourself!
