Forums > Administrators' noticeboard archive > NB:SH thread prematurely archived (pt 2)

Hi, admin team. A recent CT got consensus on when SH threads can be closed before 30 days of inactivity. The community decided that all such early closures would apply to SH threads that directly related to a subsequent CT thread. As such, Forum:SH:QuickAnswers, which has not been inactive for 30 days and does not relate to a CT thread, should not be closed. Thank you. Asithol (talk) 15:58, 3 May 2024 (UTC)

  • It's effectively been obsoleted by Fandom's decision to pull the plug on the feature, which was what the SH was about. OOM 224 (he/him) 16:02, 3 May 2024 (UTC)
    • True. Nonetheless, community consensus on when SH threads can be closed early do not apply to this thread, and we have (hopefully) left behind the era where admins feel free to make up rules as they go. Asithol (talk) 16:23, 3 May 2024 (UTC)
      • I'll note for the public record that this was done by admins collectively (though I was the one who did it onsite, but it was with consensus) following the internal dealings with Fandom itself. Of course, 99% of Senate Halls we have are exclusively about Wookieepedia-only matters, and those follow guidelines and have generally been common-sense archived for years. It is important to remember that we do operate and are somewhat under the thumb of Fandom, though, so we certainly do and will oblige to their requests when we can. Not always, but also in the interest of common-sense & avoiding wiki-lawyering by being able to do simple things like put something to rest so that they can have their developers working on it, especially since they rarely ask us to do such and it's common courtesy.spookywillowwtalk 23:04, 3 May 2024 (UTC)
