I need some input about a ship from the Clone Wars TV series. Season 2, Epi 9 a fleet of 7 Republic ships are on a mission to save a captured Jedi Master. Obi-Wan Kenobi's Arquitens-class (is this name canon?) light cruiser is the only one of its class in this episode. The Wookieepedia page has it listed as a KDY model but, the distinctive 3 external engine drive system is signature CEC. Is it possibly a collaboration between KDY and CEC or, is it a CEC niche design trying to steal a little business from their primary competitor KDY? Also, please confirm the length, it appears to be about twice that of the Consular-class ship (time stamp 6 minutes 59 seconds), making it about 213 to 240 meters.—Unsigned comment by Race353 (talk • contribs)
- "TV series" — Star Wars: Droids? Ewoks? Star Wars: Clone Wars? Star Wars: The Clone Wars? JangFett (Talk) 15:36, April 1, 2014 (UTC)
- this really should go on the talk page of the particular article, but I'll answer it here. Unless we have a canon source stating the involvement of CEC, then it's simply speculation and cannot be added to the article. Also, in regards to the size, since there's no official source, your estimations are speculation and original research and therefore cannot be listed in the article. Hope this answers your questions. - Omicron, thank you for the response. Your point was exactly my point. If there is no canonized information, or anything with the LucasArts stamp, how can this be protected or non-negotiable? As to approximate sizes, I've seen a few other articles that used about and approximate. Race353 (talk) 16:27, April 1, 2014 (UTC)Race
- Our policy is very clear. Unless we have a valid canon source for information, we do not include it in the article. You have no source for your information, therefore, it's opinion or speculation. <-Omicron(Leave a message at the BEEP!) 16:38, April 1, 2014 (UTC)
- A check of the Arquitens-class light cruiser page shows that the manufacturer of the ship is listed as KDY, and is sourced to Star Wars: The Clone Wars Official Episode Guide Series 1 & 2. Assuming the info is accurate (I cannot check personally), then there is already canonical information available. - Sir Cavalier of One

Omicron - Yes, that is also my point. If the original author of this page, invented the info on the page and can not properly source it, he too is in the wrong. I did not say that what I wrote was canon, I'm disputing HIS authenticity. Simply stating that he saw it in the animated series is not a canon information source for anything other than the ships picture and location in the history. It was seen in a episode - check (ipso facto) canon, it does exist. However, no character states the name of class of the ship other than the battle droid, briefing General Grievous, that 7 republic ships have dropped out of hyperspace (not a quote), 3 cruisers and 4 escort ships. I'm asking for a canon source on the ship that Obi-Wan was commanding.
Sir Cavalier - Yes, thank you. The page does say that and I'm disputing the author's information. If the author can site the actual source for the Ship Class/Name and the manufacturer then I'll conceded however, I haven't found it anywhere and the author is not forthcoming. "Because I said so." isn't a good enough reference for me, that's all. Race353 (talk) 19:17, April 1, 2014 (UTC)Race353
- Ok I see what you're saying. I don't watch TCW, so I don't know what, if any, information is given about the ship itself. If there is enough circumstantial evidence that Obi's ship is significantly different from the standard Arquitens-class light cruiser, then yes, the page should be moved to a new name. However, your information on size and manufacturer ARE speculative, and cannot be in the article. <-Omicron(Leave a message at the BEEP!) 19:27, April 1, 2014 (UTC)
