So, with all the Fleet Junkies around here, does anybody know of a ship or ship class with a size in between a Lucrehulk-class battleship and a Sovereign-class Star Dreadnought? Doesn't have to be exactly in between the two, as long as there is something. With such a large size difference between them, I thought it would be easier to find, but so far I've been out of luck. Thanks in advance. DarthMRN 14:32, 11 June 2007 (UTC)
- Eclipse-class dreadnought & Executor-class Star Dreadnought are the largest "ships" (not battle stations). But they are listed in the Lucrehulk-class page so maybe you mean something else?? -Fnlayson 15:35, 11 June 2007 (UTC)
- Both of those are bigger than the Sovereign-class. If I wasn't clear, I'm searching for any spacefaring vessel of a size somewhere in between those of a Lucrehulk battleship and a Sovereign-class Dreadnought. DarthMRN 15:52, 11 June 2007 (UTC)
- I know you said in between. I thought Lucrehulk was way bigger than 3.17 km. I'm not aware of anything now that's between there. The Mon Cal battleships were listed at 3.8 km a while back. Now they are like >1.2 km. -Fnlayson 15:58, 11 June 2007 (UTC)
- The Black Ice fits the bill. jSarek 23:40, 11 June 2007 (UTC)
- Awesome, man. Now I just need something in between the Black Ice and a Sovereign-class Star Dreadnought, lol. Will this be possble, I wonder? DarthMRN 00:31, 12 June 2007 (UTC)
- Both the Bulwark-class battlecruiser used by the Rebel Alliance during the Rebellion and/or New Republic Eras and the Dauntless-class heavy cruiser are likely between 3.17 and 15 kilometers, and at the very least the Bulwark is probably between 7.8 kilometers, but there is no way to know their exact lengths unless you are willing to accept a comparison of in-game models from Rebellion; but models are more often than not not great representations of scale (Rebellion's not so bad, though). If you want to compare their lengths, I'm sure that someone in the Rebellion community has extracted the models and can give you exact ratios between a variety of craft to find their likely lengths and the probable margin of error. - If that is right, then I guess those should be usable. Thanks a lot. But you might want to include those size estimates in the article, even if only in the BTS section. DarthMRN 14:04, 12 June 2007 (UTC)
- Well I never said I had the tools to do it... but I'm the nicest person in the world and found a way to do it anyway. I have bad news; the scale of the ships in Rebellion is much, much worse than I remember. Heck, in Rebellion the MC-80s are slighly longer than the ISD-Is. Basically, I wasn't able to get good measures of either ship. They appear in some mixed fleet pics, but are at angles and distances that are horrible for judging size. So the only way the sizes of these ships will be known is if they either appear in later EU material or they are given larger sections in sourcebooks. :-/ Tony Knightcrawer 23:00, 12 June 2007 (UTC)

- Sorry if this is late: The Killik Nest Ships were about 8 km long, and their Shard-class capital ships were between 2 and 10 km in length. (Length being defined as the longest dimension on a ship, regardless if this is length, height or width). The Yuuzhan Vong fielded 8 km long Grand Cruisers, and some battleship analogs of various sizes. The New Republic fielded Mediator-class battle cruisers, about half the size of their 17 km long Viscount-class Star Defenders, while the Rebel Alliance in its day, fielded later models of Bulwark-class battlecruisers which were bigger than the original 1 km version and I think were meant to be bigger than the Lucrehulk-class as well. Then there's the Home One Star Cruisers, which are about 3+ km long (in movie canon, that is. EU canon on the other hand... ;)). The Old Republic fielded multi-kilometer-long Star Battlecruisers and Star Dreadnoughts (continuing with the production lines as the Galactic Empire), and even built multi-mile (3,2+ km) long Star Destroyers. The Empire also fielded Star Cruisers that were bigger than their Star Destroyers. The Old Republic seems to have had their Couragous-type battleships at several kilometers in diameter as well, as an apparent reference to the later Lucrehulk-class.
