I have a few questions about Krayts and Lukes Cybernetic arm. K, one. When Vader was fighting Luke, it showed Vader cutting off Lukes HAND. but when he gets a replacement the show the medical droid put down cybernetic falps for the lower part of his arm as if it were cut off. Wasn't it just his hand that got cut off? Can someone explain that?
And, Krayts can release force lightning, and he has a cybernetic arm. How come Vader can't do force lightning with a cybernetic but Krayt can? thank you.JediNTT307 17:20, 24 March 2008 (UTC)
I think Krayt can use froce lightning because the YV took off his cybernetic arm and replaced it with an organic material. But Vader was all machine so lightning would fry his circuts, i think thats what eventually led to his death. The Emperor's lightning. hope that helps!JediBob 20:04, 24 March 2008 (UTC)

- For the first question, Vader did cut off just Luke's hand, but in order to connect a cybernetic hand to his organic one a sizeable connection would be needed, which can only be placed in his lower arm. As for the second question, it was possible for Vader to do Force Lightning, but as mentioned above, he was pretty much entirely cybernetic, so it would've deffinately killed him. Palpatine states implicitly in the "Darth Vader: Lord of the Sith" book that Vader "will never be able to use the blue force lightning" giving as a reason that it requires living tissue to throw it..and he just doesnt have enough living tissue left to channel that much Force energy.
