After speaking with those currently in our discord with the VIP role, the time has come to update our rules regarding pings. My proposed change will add the following to the VIP rules already noted on Wookieepedia:Discord.

  • "A list of individuals with the VIP role who have given their permission for users to ping them can be found pinned in the main #wookieepedia channel. Please note that this permission applies solely to verified users." This will be inserted into point 9, Regarding VIP's, as follows.

9. Regarding VIPs. Anyone with the VIP role, denoted by a red name, is not to be pinged or sent a friend request for any reason without their express consent. A list of individuals with the VIP role who have given their permission for users to ping them can be found pinned in the main #wookieepedia channel. Please note that this permission applies solely to verified users. Please be respectful and do not ask for insider information, as not only are they not at liberty to discuss, this may lead to them leaving. Do not share fanfiction or suggestions with them, as in some cases they are prohibited from accepting it.

  • Have any of our current VIPs given any indication what sort of questions/comments they're ok with being pinged with? And should there be a spam clause of some sort, just because we CAN ping them doesn't mean we SHOULD :) Manoof (he/him/his) (talk) 06:04, 30 January 2022 (UTC)
    • Nothing specific, just that pinging them is fine, albeit they may not see the ping right away. Imo spam falls under the "be respectful", and can be updated in the future as needed. Many people are down for some good conversation! Supreme Emperor Holocomm 07:10, 30 January 2022 (UTC)
