My suggestion is to rename Category:Admirals and generals to Category:Line officers. That is the term used in Star by Star to describes admirals, generals, and commodores, so it has at least some in-universe precedent, and sounds much smoother. Also, by doing so, we'd rename all the sub-categories similar, for example, from Category:Imperial admirals and generals to Category:Imperial line officers.

Where is this in the book? In real life a line officer is an officer of any rank who is not a member of one of the staff corps. I'm skeptical that it's only referring to what would otherwise probably be called Flag officers or General officers. I'd just like to see an unambiguous reference quoted from the book before I vote. - Commodore Brand, General Bel Iblis, Admiral Kre'fey, and a few other similarly-ranked officers are standing up to Borsk in the Senate, and Han then suggests that he'll need more line officers. It's somewhere in the 400s. And I trust that I don't need to say that because a phrase means one thing in American English, it has to mean the same thing in Star Wars use, especially military or political stuff. - I understand that. The fact that it does mean something different in the real world than what you said it means in the SW galaxy is the reason that I just want to see a quote. (And the real-world use of "line officers" makes sense here- an Admiral who was in command of the Chaplain Corps would not pull as much weight in discussing warfare as one who was a line officer in command of a fleet group. Their ranks may still not have anything to do with them being "line officers". So I'd still like to see the exact words if you can find them. I'm looking for them myself as well). - "General?" Han looked over the comm screen at Leia and cocked an eyebrow. "Don't tell me you're reactivating my commission? You can't be that desperate for line officers." —Xwing328(Talk) 21:24, 22 April 2007 (UTC)
- We do this and we're inviting a rash of Saxton and anti-Saxton pissing contests. Gonk (Gonk!) 01:13, 23 April 2007 (UTC)
- I agree. "Line officer" there seems to be in reference to having a commission rather than to the specific rank of general. I say leave this alone because obviously people can interpret it different ways. Wildyoda 02:50, 23 April 2007 (UTC)
