The result of the debate was adopt the new {{merge}}; reject the two others. - Sikon 10:51, 16 April 2007 (UTC) In the spirit of other article construction templates, here are some proposed image/quote boxes for the major three merge templates that seem to be used. You'll notice there are no proposals for {{mergefrom}} or {{merging}}. If you look on the category page, these templates are rarely implemented (Ahto City, Westar-M5, and Tech were the only pages I found). Perhaps if there is support for change but not support for these specific boxes (or sizes, or colors), then we can tweak around with them in the comments sections.

Merge template

Whereas the other proposals focus on the actual merging, this one focuses more on the two articles being equal; I think most people use this template when the articles speak about the same thing, as opposed to one article being a smaller part of the other. -BaronGrackle 14:07, 14 December 2006 (UTC)

General comments

  • I was opposed to these re-designs to begin with (even though I never voted), but now with Will's recent complaints regarding "fair use" images in templates, I think we should stick with the original ones. —Xwing328(Talk) 04:07, 6 February 2007 (UTC)

      • Sometimes one random Joe is all it takes. I think discretion is the better part of valor for the time being, especially since, as Xwing noted, those redesigns still leave something to be desired anyway. jSarek 10:26, 6 February 2007 (UTC)

    • I agree. While I was happy that the template style caught on after {{doomed}}, I think they've gotten a bit out of hand. The templates, if anything, should be made smaller and more discrete to avoid taking up half the "above the fold" space in some instances. — SparqMan Talk 16:07, 6 February 2007 (UTC)
