Section order

  • I like the QOTD up top. One of the main reasons I even visit the main page is to look it up, and it's much more convenient if it's at the top.--Ryluk Shouja(Bounty Hunters Guild)16:19, 2 March 2007 (UTC)
    • Long quotes will be problematic. The FA is what we're featuring, after all, so it should be at the top. QOTD should be prominent, but not more prominent than everything else. Gonk 16:24, 2 March 2007 (UTC)

  • I feel QOTD should be under the FA. Particularly long QOTDs push FA completely off the screen when viewing the main page in lower resolutions, and since the featured article is a showcase of what we as Wookieepedians declare to be an excellent article, I think it should be more visible over the QOTD. Search box

  • I never use it because the other one is in the same spot as on all the other pages, so one of them is redundant. I like the thing where it tells you how many articles are on the wiki though.--Ryluk Shouja(Bounty Hunters Guild)16:21, 2 March 2007 (UTC)

    • The whole area around the upper right search box need not be removed. Remove the search box line and word "search" above, but leave the number of articles and languages links. That would not make much white space. -Fnlayson 00:33, 3 March 2007 (UTC)

In the news

I like to say the in th e news section picture looks like a reindeer. I would like to state that as my only tweak thing. I actually like it as it is even though it's a beta. Darth tader(General) MandalorianKOTOR 19:55, 2 March 2007 (UTC)

  • What if we just kept the "On this day..." and removed "In the news"? This could provide us some more space. And hopefully, stuff added to the news would be good enough to just be on the date pages. —Xwing328(Talk) 23:52, 2 March 2007 (UTC)

  • Agreed. The icon is, sorry to say, stupid and should be changed. It looks too much like a reindeer. The idea of a camera-bot for this section's icon is clever though. Perhaps the yellow camera-bot seen floating around the Senate Hall in the movies could be used: [1]. Not that picture though; one that is angled, with the antennae removed so more of the robot is in the picture. Sorry for the length of this.Ben Kenobi 02:22, 4 March 2007 (UTC)
