The result of the debate was do not change Finnish interwiki links to ShoutWiki version. Graestan(Talk) 18:51, February 18, 2011 (UTC)
As many of you propably know, the Finnish Star Wars wiki Jedipedia has move away from Wikia, and is now officially located in ShoutWiki. The version in Wikia still exists, but the community has moved ages ago, and the old one is completely abandoned, not counting some random editors. :P
So I, among other admins of Jedipedia, think that interwiki links in other Star Wars encyclopedias, including Wookieepedia, could be changed to the "right" Jedipedia. As the current and "official" one grows larger, and the old one in Wikia stays abandoned, it would be useful to change all the fi-links from fi.starwars.wikia.com, to [Redacted by administration] Then we could go on adding interwiki links to Wookieepedia when we create new articles around there. And by the way, the German Jedipedia, which is not a part of Wikia, naturally has already changed it's fi-interwikis to ShoutWiki, to the right Jedipedia.
So, what do you think? Would this be possible? Wikia may say no, but we can always try asking them, if the community of Wookieepedia accepts my request. --DARTH SIDIOUS 2 (Contact) 19:20, February 10, 2011 (UTC)

See comment below. Master Jonathan (Council Chambers) Thursday, February 10, 2011, 20:15 UTC- Striking for the same reason as Nayayen. Master Jonathan (Council Chambers) Thursday, February 10, 2011, 23:19 UTC
I'll vote based on the activity and quality of the articles at the community, not the wiki-host. NAYAYEN—it appears to be a frammistat 20:51, February 10, 2011 (UTC)- For the record, the community is run by the same people who host it. Why do you think they were so eager to move? Toprawa and Ralltiir 20:57, February 10, 2011 (UTC)
- I'm sure it's no coincidence that the two groups are one and the same, but does that matter to the casual readers if the articles are properly maintained? A brief glance and Opera translate of the site seem to show to be that to be the case. NAYAYEN—it appears to be a frammistat 21:04, February 10, 2011 (UTC)
- Yes. Yes, it does. I only regret I can't make you see first-hand the long history of abusive behavior as the reason why Wookieepedia should not be associating with these people. I do hope that some of our trusted current Finnish Wookieepedians, whom I am in public contact with even as I type this and who are very familiar with what I refer to, will feel comfortable enough to eventually voice their opinions on this forum as well. Toprawa and Ralltiir 21:13, February 10, 2011 (UTC)
- I'm striking this having since had the situation explained to me more. NAYAYEN—it appears to be a frammistat 21:35, February 10, 2011 (UTC)

Per Nayayen. We're doing a disservice to our readers to link to a defunct community when there is an active one elsewhere. We can fix the resulting issue(s) when they surface. Darth Trayus(Trayus Academy) 21:37, February 10, 2011 (UTC)- I'd really prefer not to get so involved in this entire thing, since this vote is symbolic at best, but I feel I need to educate those of us who simply don't understand the situation. The community is defunct because, according to what I've been told and have been shown, they're actively banning anyone who dares to edit the Wikia wiki, for no other reason than they're trying to force people to edit the ShoutWiki version. There are people who have made good-natured attempts to revitalize the Wikia version and effectively start a new community who have been banned for even trying this. Some of these people, I've also been told, may make an effort to contact Wikia and try to help rebuild the wiki. I think we owe it to these people to give them a shot. - Striking because of the threat to sue and my apparent lack of familiarity with the issues at hand here, but given that I lack in-depth knowledge of that issue, I'll refrain from voting to oppose. Darth Trayus(Trayus Academy) 23:11, February 10, 2011 (UTC)
- I encourage you and everyone not to be intimidated by immature and baseless threats made by Internet trolls. We're all better than that. Toprawa and Ralltiir 23:16, February 10, 2011 (UTC)
- No no, it's not intimidation. I'm saying that I'm deciding not to support the change because of the silly threat. I wouldn't want us to link to a wiki that functions with such immaturity. I'm just deciding to refrain from casting a vote in either direction because there's clearly a larger picture of events here that I'm not fully aware of. Darth Trayus(Trayus Academy) 23:23, February 10, 2011 (UTC)
- I understand now. I apologize if I misinterpreted your comment. Toprawa and Ralltiir 23:26, February 10, 2011 (UTC)

Oppose
- Frankly, I don't trust any institution allied with ShoutWiki, which is openly led and operated by a group of former Wookieepedians who were collectively banned from our wiki for garish trolling, vandalism, stalking, and general misbehavior...which is the same behavior they've long applied to Wikia in general, and which is why they broke away from Wikia to begin with. In this case, Wikia is the lesser of two evils. Toprawa and Ralltiir 20:24, February 10, 2011 (UTC)
- I would suggest rewording your statement, because currently it fits the criteria of libel and you could be sued for it unless you have some proof of this so-called "misbehavior", other than your personal opinions. --95.154.230.191 22:04, February 10, 2011 (UTC)

- Not a good idea to associate with an organization operated by trolls and troll-enablers. Also, threatening to sue someone on the internet is a great way to proclaim your impotence. -- Darth Culator (Talk) 22:19, February 10, 2011 (UTC)

- Threats of legal action on the internet? Sounds serious, you better be careful, Tope. OLIOSTER (talk) 08:49, February 11, 2011 (UTC)
- Exactly. Toprawa and Culator are completely correct on this. — Fiolli; 15:57, February 11, 2011 (UTC)

- I am voting per Wikia's policy (as commented below). Corellian Premier
All along the watchtower 17:55, February 11, 2011 (UTC) - Here it goes... "community has moved ages ago" means that everyone who dares to edit the Wikia wiki gets banned and as this has been the policy, there's no community as far as I can see. I've been planning some time now that when time is right and those shoutwiki folks have mostly forgotten the wikia wiki, I would go and ask per this ridiculous ban policy that it could be back in use for those who desires so, but this new turn means I need to hurry up. So, I have now proceeded and contacted the Wikia staff to give users their rights back in there, unfortunately this meant that the admins lost their rights there, but they are free to regain them if they are not harming the wikia wiki. Seriously, the difference in article count and quality between shoutwiki and wikia wikis comes only from this ban policy, and the difference isn't that big. I prolly will write more lenghty and detailed post in more suitable place and time. Thank you and sorry... –Tm_T (Talk) 22:12, February 11, 2011 (UTC)

- Shoutwiki is run by trolls. Chack Jadson (Talk) 17:30, February 15, 2011 (UTC)
- Could I hear some details? Why would the communities of many Wikia wiki choose to leave Wikia and move to ShoutWiki (see Anti-Wikia Alliance @ Community Central), if it's run by trolls? I would love to hear details on this, and perhaps a link or two. --DARTH SIDIOUS 2 (Contact) 19:59, February 15, 2011 (UTC)
- All block logs and userpage ban notices are available to the public eye. That should suffice for your purposes. Toprawa and Ralltiir 20:04, February 15, 2011 (UTC)

Discussion
- Unfortunately, Wikia has already told us that they will not change interlanguage links from a Wikia wiki to a non-Wikia wiki. That doesn't mean we can't vote in protest above, just that it won't happen except in the unlikely instance that Wikia decides to change their mind. Master Jonathan (Council Chambers) Thursday, February 10, 2011, 20:15 UTC
- It seems that this discussion is going nowhere, I think we can assume Wookieepedia has declined this request. I simply asked what Wookieepedia thinks, and the result seems clear now. So there's no point in proceeding, just forget the whole thing. Or well, you can continue discussing if you wish, but I withdraw. --DARTH SIDIOUS 2 (Contact) 23:01, February 11, 2011 (UTC)
