Dear Wookieepedians. It has been several years since this topic was brought up by DARTH SIDIOUS 2 about changing your interwiki links to refer to newer and more active Jedipedia run on ShoutWiki server. Back then it did not receive much support, but a lot has changed since then and I dare to bring this topic forward again. Firstly, the old site has become seriously outdated, especially since the big shift with Canon/Legends division, which has not made its way even to the recent news there. Far less it can be seen in the articles. This is not the case in ShoutWiki's Jedipedia, where the change was taken under consideration almost as soon as it came out, just like you guys did. Secondly, the ShoutWiki site has active administration and any vandalism or other messing with our site is usually handled swiftly. That is something the old Jedipedia lacks.

Back during the old discussion there were concerns about behaviour of some users toward those who edited the old wiki. These kinds of stunts have been dropped and I can assure you we have no intention of harassing those who edit the old wiki. We send them a message with a link to the more active and complete site and they can decide for themselves what they do. So far what I have seen the has been no real new active editors coming along. Most of them make couple of edits and then just disappear.

So, I would like all of you to reconsider that old decision and change the interwiki links to lead to ShoutWiki Jedipedia instead.--Dionne Jinn (Something to say?) 11:41, June 22, 2015 (UTC)

  1. Absolutely not. You're a good editor, Dionne, and I appreciate your dedication to your native-language wiki, so don't take this personally, but this guy is banned from Wookieepedia for a reason.     • I knew someone would "pull out that Darthipedia card", and all I can say about that is that I have no idea what they have done, but that was years ago and now is now.       • It boils down to a matter of trust and who we are willing to stake our reputation on by maintaining a relationship with.     • I'm a bit confused now. I looked at 50 last edits Jack did here on Wook, and all of them seemed valid to me. Most were interwikilinks to Jedipedia, in fact.   6. Many of our most prolific current contributors are fortunate enough to have joined us after the dark times that were exacerbated by the co-founders of ShoutWiki. That's for the best, since the records AND people should all be sealed and buried in a lead-lined vault a mile beneath the surface of a featureless expanse of radioactive Nevada desert. Regardless of how outdated the Wikia version of the Finnish wiki may be and how renowned my dislike for Wikia, I won't support driving traffic to a wiki founded by trolls, even allegedly-former ones. That's assuming the ShoutWiki servers are even operating this week, since they don't have a good reputation for reliability. Also, I would have voted against this CT on principle, because it always annoys me when someone feels the need to individually respond to every opposing vote. -- Darth Culator (Talk) 20:43, July 3, 2015 (UTC)

  • I think I recognize a lost cause when I see one, and I'm almost ready to admit that we have been defeated again. But at the same time it saddens me to see such fear and prejudice among Wookieepedians, who I have always held in high regard despite our differences of opinion. None of us at Jedipedia has any wish to hurt Wookieepedia, which is the most comprehensive source of Star Wars data we all crave. We continue our efforts to improve our own site, to make it shine in comparison to the old wikia version, and maybe in few more years you can find it in your hearts to open accept us as we are.   • I don't understand. You Wookieepedians are complaining about Wikia linking to inactive wikis (French, German and Polish) yet doing the same yourselves. Also the evidence of Jack Phoenix trolling or vandalising on Wookieepedia has yet to be seen. If he was simply blocked due to saying something about Wookieepedians in Darthipedia or any other place, not only would it be a violation of blocking policy but on the same basis several of you could be banned in ShoutWiki or Jedipedia for insulting one of its admins here. Of course we won't do that because it doesn't make any sense. Personal issues with Jack or ShoutWiki should not affect relations with Jedipedia, after all several of you dislike Wikia yet are hosted by it.
