Flux capacitor connectors were components in hyperdrives, devices which allowed starships to jump into hyperspace for fast travel around the galaxy. If flux capacitor connectors broke during hyperspace travel, they could short out the hyperdrive and cause a starship to abruptly drop out of hyperspace.[1] Sometime between 4 ABY and 27 ABY,[2] en route to the mining colony Lohopa II for a spice smuggling operation, a group of adventurers aboard a ship found themselves stuck in realspace after their ship's flux capacitor connectors snapped. The crew was able to make repairs to continue on their journey.[1]
Behind the scenes
Flux capacitor connectors appeared in "The Package," a mini adventure published in West End Games' Twin Stars of Kira supplement for their Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game, published in 1993.[1] The device shares its name with the flux capacitor from the Back to the Future franchise.[3]
